D8MOA
been looking about there are a few companys that sell it but cant find any reviews or comments on it? is it anygood?
bondango
Used the Redline Water wetter, especially on 300zx tt's, also on 7MGTE mk3 supras as they need all the help they can get in the cooling department, but never seen a real need on the mkiv as the cooling system is actually quite a good one, though it may be something to consider coming into the Summer. Its no replacement for an under effeciecent cooling system, and i have known people to use it to try and cover up other problem areas. http://www.redlineoil.com/products_coolant.asp?subCategoryID=
Lucifer
No, but used in in the radiator - great product.
D8MOA
No, but used in in the radiator - great product. :blink:what in your house!!! lol it says a max of 20'c drop in temp? can it really drop it that much?
stupra
Its good stuff I use it in my bike's, should think it would be ok to use in the car. You running high temp's ?.
Lucifer
Yes it does drop it off. It makes the viscosity more so flow is much improved.
neil tt
I was going to do a write up on using this and changing other things to see what difference it makes to the cooling system, I should be ready in about 6 weeks:)
Kranz
lol it says a max of 20'c drop in temp? can it really drop it that much? It can, but what they don't tell you is that to get this benefit you have to have a car that has an undersized cooling system to start with (which the MKIV hasn't). AND to get the claimed benefits you have to use it with water only..... no antifreeze! The reason it works (and hence its claims and name) is that it breaks down the surface tension of the water. This gives a LITTLE more cooling ability as the water as the molecules do not 'pack together' at the surface, but spread out along the surface of the metal allowing easier and free movement of the molecules against the hot metal.... so more molecules can reach the metal surface and then move away carrying heat. This is only a very small improvement in the cooling capacity of plain water, and added to antifreeze will probably not do much as antifreeze probably has additives to break surface tension anyway. The real benefit is it has anti-corrosion additives that allow plain (distilled or de-ionised) water to be used. This is an advantage because the heat capacity of water is much better than a water & antifreeze mix, so the water can carry more heat away. You can't use plain water in a cooling system due to the corrosion it will cause, but stick in a bottle of water wetter & it will work fine....... for summer only though
Gamer
I use this in the water for my watercooling in my computers. It does what it says on the tin.
