garetheves
Heres a few older ones of mine with very quickly tinted indicators. Excuse the gaps on the side of the bumper, they have since been filled in: http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2598/dscf0008qb7.jpg http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/8096/dscf0009fs1.jpg
Nic
Can't see why it would be that difficult for a company to do? To do properly, ie with an injection moulded transparent cover, would cost £1k's in tooling.
Nic
The facelift indicators are not a big job to fit; just a case of splicing into the side light wire that going to the headlight on the early model Supras and drilling a hole in the bumper to bolt them onto. Elmo
To do properly, ie with an injection moulded transparent cover, would cost £1k's in tooling. I am a buyer for an engineering company (mainly steel products) and I import a lot of parts from China, many are special items manufactured to customers sample/drawings. I mainly deal through one company in China who source pretty much anything I want. Last year I got my supplier to source me a pair of front brake discs for my supe, if I remember correctly the NETT cost to me was $10 each, in the end I got them as F.O.C samples, they have been on my motor for just over 12 months and they're still going stong. Anyway, I could send them a stock orange lense sample and I'm sure they could easily find a factory that could copy the lense but make it out of clear plastic, they would even send me samples but I would probably have to pay a mould/tooling charge in advance, if there were enough people on here interested it may be worth doing it. Anyone got a spare lense they could send me to send to China?

I live and work in Hong Kong, in a former life I developed childrens toys out here, all of which were made in China and many of which were made from injection moulded plastic parts. Injection moulding tooling is very expensive, even out here.
Nic
I think the only cost effective way of making clear covers, would be to cast them in clear resin or possibly vacuum forming a cover from transparent sheet.

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with plastics and you seem to know what you're talking about, so it looks like a non-starter
Elmo
Just spent a tortuous hour trying to fit the eBay facelift clear indicators. After removing the headlight and stock orange indicator it became apparent that the stock indicator bulb holder is bigger than the hole in the back of the eBay facelift indicator also, as the facelift indicator sits further forward so the wire is not long enough and will not reach! So, I've just had to put it all back together again, what waste of an hour. I think I'll just bin the eBay indicators and try something else!
