Chiefgroover
Received a bank draft this morning for £5683.10 from my bank. They knew they had stolen money from me, e.g. O/D setup fee £500 etc over a 6 years period, including 8% interest over 6 years = 48%, so thats the best wee savings account I have ever had as far as interest rate goes lmao!!! Now for the also illegal lodgement charges IRO £10K. Why should I have lots of money taken from my account just cause its a business account and I wish to lodge money, BTW doesnt matter if I am in debit or credit at the time they still charge a dissproportionately high fee, e.g. 100x the real cost to them, so that ought to be like taking candy off a baby once again. Total will be £15Kish, maybe time to buy a little boat?, put on a conservatory?....hhmmmm.......something nice
Feakins
Good to hear you've got some money back, how will you able to get the normal service fee's back though?
Chiefgroover
Going to try this one, as they are disproportionately high, e.g. 200x what it actually costs them it can only be deemed a penalisation of cash lodgers. Cant see the bank fighting this as if they loose every business in the country will be claiming theirs back, the publicity of a loss would not be worth the risk. Ran this past my barrister, she agreed, so why not?
Feakins
I dunno, charges are different cos no one wants them, they are like a fine so have to be fair. But a service charge for something surely could be whatever they want? If you pay £10,000 for some shoes you can't then claim they are unfair because they didnt cost £10,000 to make. Maybe worth a go tho.
