I've just sold my 200sx S14a auto. Great car

 

I'm now after a non-turbo supra auto.

 

People keep saying I'm going to be disappointed with this car.

 

True/Untrue?

 

They both are nice looking motors IMO:cool: . I'm guessing there wont be much in it in terms of pace? Or am I wrong?

 

Between 3.5k and 4k is my budget. I should be able to get summat half decent shouldn't I?

All depends on your 200s set up. Ive got an NA and love it but the TT is in a differant league. My mates got a 200sx S13 which is awesome too. All depends what your used to. The NA is 1 of greatest and fastest car as far as standard non turbo cars go but if your used to the pace of something with a turbo you might be disapointed. NA Still got performance tho.

Untrue :)

 

You might notice a slight lack in "punch" from the turbo but the performance is still there, just masked by the smoothness.

 

£4000 should get you a nice NA.

 

Spot on, performance and a joy to drive. And I think the NA is punchy, I love it.:)

Lets put it this way, I would never part with my N/A it has all the performance i need for my daily drive car and is also pretty luxurious too for something that was a bargain in my eyes (leather seats, climate control etc)

 

It just depends what YOU are after mate, try an N/A and see what you think.

I am saving up for a TT as well as my N/A lol

Ha yeah. The TT is on my list, just (actually, a lot) out of budget at the moment.

 

Theres a guy selling a red one for £3.5k up in Scotland in the 'For Sale' section. I may be tempted to go and have a look. Fancy a Blitz NURspec exhaust too. This one has 17's on. 18's would be first job for me I think, though I actually like the standard TT alloys

The nur spec is great (even with the baffle in). I got 1.:)

disagree with much of the above, my previous cars to my TT were a S13 then an S14 so do know my sx's, if performance is a factor you will be dissapointed by the na supe remember they have roughly the same power but one weighs 1250kg the other 1500 -1600kg thats a extra 1/4 ton you are carrying, i found the initial 0-30 of the 2 cars about the same 0-60 supe a bit quicker 0-130 no contest, dont mess about with an na you have very little tuning scope, go for the real deal and get a TT

out of my budget I'm afraid.

 

I really don't want to have to resort to buying a scooby either.

 

I'll be happy with a good clean one, with a nice set of rims and and a decent exhaust. for the time being anyway.....

That sounds like a reasonable idea. Must say I've pretty much fallen in love with look of the Supra. Loved it as a toy when I was a kid and now even more so as I get to actually own a real one. Working my way up to a Aston V8 Vantage :eyebrows:

All depends on wether your sx was standard....

 

My last car was a tuned S14, running about 270 on a good day. On test driving an NA supe i found it lacked the power i wanted. However if your sx was standard (cant have been too modded or youd have blown the auto box, they run out of the will to live about 260-270!) youll find the NA supe at least on a par with it, if not nippier.

 

IMHO nicer to drive, make an aswome noise and look more appealing than the sx as well (and ive had two sx's so im not being bias!) :cool:

No big reason. Being a laid back chap, I like auto. Plus aren't they usually a bit cheaper?

 

I am a bit precious about my cars and automatic seems to keep me 'real' and out of trouble. My last manual was a mk2 16v Golf GTI churning out bout 175BHP, anyway to cut a long story short, I wasn't able to behave or control myself. :innocent:

I find i cant control myself in an auto :D i dont even need to change gear to go loopy, its made the loopy process far more efficient :p

 

If your sx was running pretty standard boost, youll probably find the NA supra an entertaining/comparable drive :cool: You will get far more interest from the general public though, ive had mine all of 4 days and someones already asked to take a photo of it, never had that in 4 years of sx ownership!

Yeah. I will. Polished up ready for summer. Not told my Subaru (estate!) driving mate what I'm getting yet. He will be sooooooo jealous.

 

End of next month. Cant wait.

I moved to an n/a auto 6 months ago from an evo 4, that was tuned to 380bhp with 370lb/ft, so i felt a big decrease. But it is cheaper and a far better drive but after 6 months I still love it does not have the kick, but you can drive round town knowing you are in one of the best cars ever produced
