JustGav
These were intended for the south african police force back in 1986 but for some reason never used and orderd to be scrapped hence only 3 left world wide. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=98942&highlight=333 Yes, because BMW supplied them 25 M3's in 94 or so. At the time we had to whittle down the 300 applicants down to 50 drivers.

dangerous brain
HAmpshire also have a 06 reg audi RS4. The ovlov's are also easily tuned. My mate has an 850 R and that has police spec brakes and suspension on it (I think it is copied stuff but all the same) Its also relatively easy to tune the manual versions. Up the boost and 300 BHP is easy peasy. That said his just doesn't feel quick in relation to my old supe or my aristo. IMHO its the drivers that make the difference. As much as we the public at large despise and decry the traffic piggy-wiggy most are actually very excellent drivers and usually reasonable guys, shame most have their sense of humour removed on the driving course though-- quote to smokey nagata "what do you think this is a f*cking playground"

SupraAyf
I worked alongside the Mets SEG (Special Escort Group) a few years back and their kit was not modded at all (only alternators and electrics for the reasons that Doug has already mentioned). I have to say now that their tactical skill-base was so well refined that they had no need for extra power or engine mods I can't say that I have ever met so many highly skilled police drivers/bikers in my life!! Mike_Mac
I'm surprised no-one's posted this up already, but i'm sure some Yank Plod was quite happy to get this to drive around in. Pity about the standard Jap Alloys though.
Guest Initial-D
ive been informed that the new audi RS4 unmarked police cars in hampshire (and theres 4 of them) are unable to be calibrated over 60mph this means that they cant accurately check speed over this. the same is also true about the BMW's Also a question ive always wanted to ask is if there insurance knows of the modifications to the vehicles. chips, susspension, graphics and lights etc.
Bobbeh
In a modded Supra? Took them a while to catch the Top Secret car Gaz. Yeah they only got old Smokey Nagata after he backed off to 130mph

Millsy
Seen the two Evos in Essex, that's a little worrying/comforting depending on where you're coming from, as I'm sure even a 260bhp Evo will get close to most cars. In Peterborough the unmarked cars all seem to be BMWs but I doubt their engines are tuned much. Guess if you get to the point where you're trying to outrun one of these cars they'll have the helicopters out quite sharpish then you're proper f**ked! bondango
All RRV and 90% of traffick branch cars are modified but this is usually upgraded electricals, suspension (due to the weight carried etc etc) and Brakes. Less and Less cars are tweaked in the engine department as High speed pursuits are being phased out due to the increasing numbers of "eyes in the Sky" Think the EVO was something to do with a deal between the Forces Fleet managers and Mitsubishi - The EVO didnt need much tweaking as a RRV, as at the Time a lot of the Traffic off roaders were also mitsu. think this is one of the latest deals http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/newsid/2060922.005/country/saab/saab/saab-9-5-2.3t-police-model-uk These was a SV place near us, its been closed years, but they used to convert the old mk4 and mkiv Cortinas to Full police spec.
