tooquicktostop
I was hoping a chemical of some sort as the detailing will be impossible to strip, but I am worried the chemical may attack the plastic !
SupraAyf
I have a stock sparkplug and cam wheel cover and it needs stripping after a bad paint job and re painting, what is the best way to strip?? and then re paint I would use a 320-grit sand paper to rub down the peeling paint and then you could finish it off with a 500-grit in order to prep for painting;)
supRo
Use 2K/2 pac paint - the same paint as your car body or heat resistant paint. Cellulose paint will blister
baldy
try a pressure washer if its been done that bad the paint will probably fall off but watch you dont get carried away and start cutting grooves in the plastic
tooquicktostop
Well finished it today and quite pleased with myself !, used a chemical paint stripper and then sanded it down, 4 coats of primer, 5 of paint and 3 of clear coat, the white mark is the light ! tooquicktostop
I brought it from Halfords [OOPS][/OOPS] The Blue is a ford colour, just wanted something to match the silicon hoses, will get the actual colour code if you need it
Kev.O
The reason I asked is because when i done mine, I used halfords primer and plasticote finish but it flaked off on the fuse box lid.
Lucifer
Nitromorose.
tooquicktostop
Yes I used Nitromorse to remove the several poor layers of paint until it was back to clean plastic, this did no damage to the plastic which I was worried about, I then used a Plastic primer, will have to see if it lasts!
