b.weeks
Apart from just "ripping" the air bag unit out (which I'm considering and just replacing with gauges), is their an easy way to disable the passenger air bag? I'm guessing there's a fuse for it? (Little-un on the way and you can't have an air bag with a child seat).
JustGav
When I took my loom over from the VVTi, it had the passenger airbag. I prefered the idea of having a glove box, so I took it out. Bear in the airbag had been de-powered for around 3 days (off the battery) before I even attempted disconnecting it, it is a molex multiplug that holds it in, colour coded yellow. SupraAyf
I can't see the point of taking the Airbag system out guys as gauges don't help restrain the passenger that affectively during a collision!

SupraAyf
Go back and read the first post mate. Child seat issue. Ahhhhhhhhh - got yer mate! Still, I'm not a fanatic of having small children in the front seats of cars;)
b.weeks
If the child seat fitted in the back I would :-) But yeah, thought I would mention the reasons why - oh well - just have to stick some gauges in there of something instead ;-)

b.weeks
PS Is there no fuse that can be simply removed for a quick fix?
Markie
I know this thread has a bit of dust on it, but is there an easy way to disable like the new cars these days?
Guest elitecustombody
not in MKIV, if any component of air bag system is disconnected, none of the airbags will function in the event of collision
