Supra-Iceman
How danger is it for the engine if you have 3mm of oil over max on the oil stick? Will it burn out? or should i tap some of ?
Tricky-Ricky
Take some out, last time i ran with slightly over fill i blew the front main seal out.
SUPRASUZUKI
I doubt it'll do any harm. I'd be surprised if the level is that critical. How long has the engine been standing? Edit: How far over max were you Rick?
Mas
the thing is, you get too much smoke out of your exhaust once you have too much oil in the engine, and as said I dont think its gonna harm the car but better not I had the same case ith my Nissan last weekends
Jake
3mm? Don't worry about it.

Edit: How far over max were you Rick? Not much 3-4mm but i guess the seal may have been a coincidence, but i take no chances now, engines respond differently to being overfilled, some are ok some smoke a bit and some blow the oil seals. Cable
I take it the only option to lose some oil is remove the sump plug?
SUPRASUZUKI
I've drawn oil out of the gearbox via the dipstick tube using nylon tube and syringe. Haven't tried it on the engine (yet).
JustGav
Wouldn't panic TOO much, try and take some out just to be sure... To put your mind at ease, my brother in law did a lot worse.... Lets just say when his dad told him to top up the oil on his chavette, he did... ALL the way up to rocker box cap... The car smoked apparently for around 3 miles before finally going pop.
