SupraHuman
I got one fitted in my car.I took power from the battery running it via a relay and added a fuse in the fuse box.Mine is wired constant tho.I have no probs at start-up but I got the PHR 175 amp alternator fitted so power is plenty, always. SupraHuman
Is that the big polished thng on MVPs site? Looks nice, be interesting to know if its any good Rob,I have had mine running every day now for over a year, never missed a beat and it flows 4 times more air than your stock fan if you are to beleive the propaganda.Along with a Fluidyne rad it is one of my better investments. Good way to keep things cooler under your bonnet:d
Gamer
Same here, I liked the Fluidyne/AAP fans/shroud so much I bought another set to replace my damaged ones.
AlanM
Ah well, gonna start fitting it about 12ish, should be done by 1? ,,lol
SimonB
Rob,I have had mine running every day now for over a year, never missed a beat and it flows 4 times more air than your stock fan if you are to beleive the propaganda. Not sure where that came from, even AAP only claim 3350 to 3400 CFM against 3300 CFM for the stock one. You're not going to make things any cooler or get any extra power by fitting an electric fan. In fact by having it on all the time you're losing power - you should have it wired through a thermostat so it only runs when needed, you can get them for 30 quid or so. Otherwise you'll have the fans running even when you've got plenty of airflow through the rad at speed. It will free up loads of space and look nice though, which is why I'm about to fit one I think. Soonto_HAS_soop
I have these and have them running through an HKS Fan Controller, which allows me to have none on at lower than 85 degrees, one on above that, and both on above 95 degrees. Works a treat now and I love em.
Kranz
How about a Spal PWM twin fan controller?? First fan is speed controlled according to the temperature, so is very quiet. Second fan comes in above a certain setpoint when the first fan can't keep the temperature down & runs at full whack. Only £33 plus shipping from USA http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130092293128
Soonto_HAS_soop
Second fan will only come in when you buy the additional Spal part. My HKS Fan Controller cost me less than 100 notes plus shipping from Dusty (not a lot) and comes with full digital adjustment display, ability to control the on and off of 2 fans with the use of 2 relays, has a secondary water spray control ability and is blue led backlit. Kranz
Second fan will only come in when you buy the additional Spal part. Ahhh, it needs an FRH (fan relay harness). £17 more. Spal website's manual http://www.spalusa.com/fans/automated/tech_sheets/FAN-PWM.pdf Edit: Actually you dont HAVE to buy the FRH..... anyone can wire a relay in, so a locally sourced one, a fuse & some wire would be cheaper.... about £5 total. AlanM
Thanks guys, have had to put off fitting this to another day so I shall research the controlling aspects before then. Had a bit of a problem today when putting the LED's and white dials in, nothing major but it slowed everything up - and I need another Climate/Temperature controller now, snapped the board [OOPS][/OOPS]
SimonB
Something like this should do the job, 30 quid. http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Therm.asp

Kranz
Something like this should do the job, 30 quid. http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Therm.asp Wish I'd seen that sooner!! I bought this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GAUGEPLACE-36MM-WATER-TEMP-SENDER-PORT-SLEEVE_W0QQitemZ280033298681QQcategoryZ43120QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem but it is only a 10mm thread, so I'll have to re-tap it to 22mm to fit the dual fan thermoswitch (£3.20 ebay). Cheapest way to switch 2 fans on & off at different temps though.
