Ha ha, takes me back to whan I was a kid and had to go the post office for a licence cos my dad made me.

Actually strapped my set to the handlebars of my bike and fitted the whip ariel to the back. Small 12V battery under the seat. LOL... the best Raleigh Grifter on the street ;)

I was well into it circa 1980.

I also got my amateur licence G6XJN but I haven't been active for a while, although I've always kept my licence valid just in case I fancied going on air again.

It was a lot of fun at the time, I spent many a happy hour sitting in my car, through the night, winding people up ;)

Amazingly I still bump into people that were on CB at the same time as me, unsurprisingly, they always seem to remember me by the cars I drove :D

Did anyone else go on CB "fox hunts" like we did in Germany?

The thought of all those cars going round in circles trying to get a lock on the fox still makes me laugh.

One woman was so engrossed in watching the strength needle she collided with a lamp post - in the middle of an otherwise empty car park. :D
