I thought those electric buffers were not recommended??

Dont they leave swirl marks? I have just picked one up at a car boot sale, but am hesitating to use it.

I just brought one, was easy to use and gave nice results:cool:

I do a similar no of stages the first time i polish someones car, i don't have the fancy depth gauges though but i have some good polishing compounds / pads and waxes. The difference between doing it by hand and via machine is night and day especially under artificial light ;) It takes a long time (5 hours) but when you come to clean your car next time you can glide over the paintwork and it comes up pristine.

Do you mean that by hand or machine is better?

That sounds good Peter. I am always looking for ways to improve my car cleaning so I look forward to what you have to offer.

But before you do that what is a good value for money orbital car polisher in your opinion?

I get similar results by doing the following:-

1) go through car wash to clean car.

2)drive around quickly for a while to dry off.

Easy , job done.

Its not a very good idea to go through a machine car wash :( Respect your Supra!
