Ian C
If you want to compete, the entry fee is £100. Which seems rather high to me If that doesn't put you off, stick your name down in this thread with your best quarter mile result and any info on top speed runs and handling talents, to be considered for the Supra team There are ten spaces for our team. Usually not that many people apply so if you want a go, chances are you'll get in! Time all you single tubbie monsters put your Thor dyno sheets in the bin and let reality sort it out Please also let us know what tyres you intend on using on the day - "normal street tyres" if it's, well, normal street tyres, but if you are going to use any drag radials etc then mention the brand please. There is a limitation on what tyres can be used, most track day orientated tyres are OK but some drag tyres are no longer allowed. More info as I can find it. -Ian

Ian C
Thanks Gaz, knew I could rely on you Oh and my name isn't on the list as I think £100 to compete when it's the competitors that make the event is taking the piss somewhat Shame really, but that's my car retired from competitive nonsense... -Ian
Bobbeh
That £100 pays for your spot on the DVD / TV But yeah.. its not what it was. I'm still suprised theres no more Supercar clubs involved in this. I'd expect a bit more interest from Ferrari owners and the like turning up to have a go. Jake
£100 ? We have to pay £100 so they can charge thousands of spectators £20 each to watch? Sod that.
Ian C
That £100 pays for your spot on the DVD / TV I only ever got one decent length bit of footage on any of the DVDs and the less said about that the better! I've got a reply regarding the cost of the event from Chris Mann, I've asked if I can post it up here. The jist is though, costs of airfield hire have gone up massively due to, unsurprisingly, a court case regarding noise abatement orders served by wankers who buy houses near an airfield. The driver entries are in fact subsidised by the ticket sales, and you still get the free dvd etc. I can't justify it anyway due to the dreaded house purchase plague that's affected my wallet. Bugger. But I'm pants at drag racing anyway -Ian

And no, the explanation doesn't really cover that, I agree. However, get on that line and see Elvington airfield stretching away in front of you and thousands of people either side watching you and the £100 drops out of your mind right there and then -Ian

I think its steep for sure this year more than any. We'll probably break the car again (that place is cursed for us), but we'll give it a shot. In the street class at least were in a with a chance. The Skylines and Vipers will be strong though. Gaz.

JamieP
How about a few more enteries? Jamie? Ash? anyone out there lol? My car has no proven 1/4 time yet, plus its to far for me:)
tDR
Was thinking I'd like to enter again but I agree £100 is taking the piss a bit. They hardly make a loss on it given the £10 crappy hamburgers and thousands of £20 spectator tickets..... plus the TV / DVD and other sponsorship money. For reference, 12.51 @ 109MPH running BFG DR's, which I would run again. I've yet to post a time that reflects my mods since then though but should post one within the next month or so. I would intend to spend more time on the handling course this time as I'm 'handy' on a track and want to get a time that won't embarrass us Supra owners! Cheers, Brian. Branners
it is a long way to go, but find a group of friends and book a hotel for the night before and make a weekend of it. I enjoy the night before more than I do the actual event now. Except when I choose a restaurant that poisons 2 competitors. JB
Christian
I'll register a tentative interest; she's all in bits @ the moment but should be OK. Tyres are ET Streets if I remember right.
GeordieSteve
What's the minimum 1/4 time the club would enter. Interest only of course

Hi Christian, Is that the Mickey Thomson ET Streets? They aren't allowed this year in the street class, we are switching to BFG's for TOTB this year. Gaz.
