Newgendesign
I ve come across a second hand RSR exhaust - I know they are great and wonderful and want it on my car. Now I currently run a stock exhaust (boring restrictive and quiet) and whilst under teh car the otehr day I noticed some corrosion on the backbox that will be probably have had come next years MOT. How easy is it to fit this RSR? Baring in mind I would like to go decat (2x), but am afraid MOT failiure is NOT an option. How are others getting over this? Is ist worth keeping my cats on or at least removing the second? Can I achieve this using this exhaust? The car is a SZ with 15k on it (nothing!) so emissions are currently dead on perfect. You can fit it yourself in less than half an hour on axle stands. The exhaust wont make it fail an MOT but having both cats out will. Take the 2nd cat off and you will be right as rain. Matttrd
Just a note to say i enquired about a full decat with my local garage, here is what he told me. "If your car is 10 years old or more and a j spec you can remove both cats without worry, of failing an MOT". This is because when the emission test is done most systems won't recognise the information inputed by the mechanic. Of course this all depends upon your friendly garage. Anyone who is interested in using this garage who lives in my area PM me for details. I have used this garage for 3 years they have done all my work to an excellent standard and have never ripped me off.
