jamesmark
A few of my mates done this a few years back when in thier final year at uni and they said that they remembered things more easily. Is not not proven to work?
Kranz
Tried it years ago for A levels instead of actually doing some work. Don't know if it made much difference, though I could remember some things that I didn't know why I knew them. Its mainly good for repetative learning, such as lists of things. I find I learn better with 'muscle memory' learning i.e. physically doing something while learning (no smut please;))

RobSheffield
There is always that danger of putting the wrong tape in and being able to sing a particular song off by heart

Charlotte
It doesn't work. They did an experiment on tv. Testing a group of people's knowledge of a certain subject. I suppose it might work if you weren't really asleep, in which case, why not just stay awake? Whilst I was doing exams a few years ago I did record myself talking about stuff I would have to know and the repartition helped.
terribleturner
Well im sure when i was at boarding school i'd go to sleep with music on and wake up knowing the words to all the songs and the playlists on all the tapes. May have just been a coincidence though. Maybe i'll give it a whirl and see what happens.
