Carl
Im still a little confused on this road tax budget. Are all pre 2001 cars still under the old system, eg £190 odd a year etc or will I be paying the new £300 tax bill come next tax bill for my 1996 Supra. Carl
So if I own a 2002 BMW 325Ci which has emmissions of 229 is my car going to cost £205 because it is pre 23 March 2006 or am I in the new £300 category? Carl
Pot
I'd say pre-01 Sups are on the old system still, or for imports, will they go on the 1st Registered date, making mine an '05?... :S
Carl
Id say its highly un likely to go by import registration. It would have to be first year of registration, eg. when new. Carl

Carl Someone on here rang the DVLA and asked earlier, its done on first built - the fact it was registered in 05 doesnt make a co2 level magically appear for it to be taxed on (thankfully) All in all, a pretty pants day, due to income tax ill be about £10 a month better off, which will dissapear in increaded road and fuel tax....
