tbourner
Is this about right? Something I just whipped up in excel, not sure if I got the calcs right though. I had to do it with a baseline tax band of 500 as well - obviously that'll be different with different salary but you get the idea.

Ark
Only good thing to come out of this budget is that hopefully it will ensure that Gordon (smug bastard) Brown will never realise his ambition and become prime minister. How do you figure that? Seems like a forgone conclusion to me.
tbourner
It stays at £96 after that, there's no change after 40k.
Scoboblio
Errr - isn't that the whole point? Yes, it is. But it doesn't deserve all of yesterdays "Gordan has saved you all from the big scary tax monster" headlines, considering that someone on minumim wage (about 11 or 12k IIRC) will be paying more tax! jaymdee
It stays at £96 after that, there's no change after 40k. There is a change due to the increased limit for National Insurance meaning anyone earning over £43,000 will be worse off by approx £20 per year
