toyo rob
hi all, i'm 1/2 way thru changing the rear wheel bearing and have caught another snag.... the abs sensor is stuck firmly into the hub and i just cant see a way of getting the thing out, and cant see a join to uncouple it the other end, before it goes into the boot and also cant see a join inside the boot either, how should i procede... do it cut the wire and solder the cables afterwards ????? SkinnBa
The ABS sensors are a pain if they are stuck in, I think I managed to prise mine out with a screwdriver and a rubber mallet.....go careful though cos you don't want to snap the plastic! With respect to where it's plugged it, if you take the boot cover out and look near the rear seats there are two rubber grommets that feed the wire into the boot. The actual connection is in the plastic panel near the rear seat belts, you'll have to remove some trim to get to this. Best of luck! I vowed never to do a wheel bearing again
Kranz
Plenty of plusgas or WD40 for a couple of days beforehand!! Then cover it in silicone grease when refitting.
