CJ
I agree with Harvard here. Nobody is disputing that the guy is immensely talented and has had a superb season. What people object to is when Man U fans try to defend him by saying he doesn't dive. That's just silly.
MaveriK
Are we saying then that tonight was not a penalty?
Kopite
Lets just all forget that Mcidiot put on Carragher when we should have been chasing a win and let the fool take a pen, even Kopite with admit that was a bad decision as i dont think he has ever taken a pen for Liverpool let alone England. Cardiff, Feb 25th 2001, Vs Birmingham City, top corner. Liverpool win. Didn't see anyone else jumping up to take a penny for England, maybe Rooney should have... oh hang on .... CJ
Are we saying then that tonight was not a penalty? I didn't see it so cannot comment. But if I was a betting man, I would wager that even if that incident wasn't a dive, then there were plenty of others that were

DrivingTheDream
Divers=Scum. Worst thing about the "mans" game is all the twats play acting, diving, card waving etc. Ronaldo falls into the category of the above.
Havard
Are we saying then that tonight was not a penalty? I have only just seen this on sky sports news as I hadn't seen the highlights before. I watched it at full speed from the main camera and I would have given a penalty!! The replay from behind the goal, shows that there is no contact before Ronaldo goes down but then they collide on the floor. From that angle I would say no penalty. Unfortunately the referee would have seen it from the first angle and therefore understand why he gave it!! H.
MaveriK
You've never met me...are you saying you don't like me because I don't agree with you? Did the smiley not give it away that it was said/typed tongue in cheek? CJ, it was a penalty clear and simple! Kopite, firstly i stand corrected. Secondly it was not a pop at the scouse devils, more at the manager (Englands). And thirdly i cant believe you being a football fan cheared in the decision at the time. Kopite
Nope didn't cheer it at all, just making sure you realise there were lots of other mistakes by England players that night besides Carradonna's

From that angle I would say no penalty Humm, Butch Wilkins, James Rednapp and my good self saw Woodgate slide in and take his trailing leg. Guess there was alot of rose tinted glasses around. hogmaw
I'm a boro fan and yes it was a penalty. The ronaldo bloke is the best player in the world, but he DOES dive AND make a meal of it when he is fouled sometimes. Shame cos he does not have to do that. Having said that I think we played great tonight, only got beat by a penalty to one of the best teams in the world.
MaveriK
Nope didn't cheer it at all, just making sure you realise there were lots of other mistakes by England players that night besides Carradonna's This is were this stuff gets out of hand, i never said i blamed his slowness, i blame the manager for putting us/him in that position. Plenty of attackers still on the pitch and his was not the only one missed either.

Guess there was alot of rose tinted glasses around. Just calling it as I saw it mate. I have no axe to grind with anybody, I actually enjoy watching teams I regard as better than mine!! Difficult to say, put that in front of 100 refs and I would be surprised if you didn't get a 50/50 split!! H.

MaveriK
Ok, lets look at what you posted. Rooney obviously hates him and blames him completely for our exit from the world cup. Yes, he raped her and is now i jail for it. Or perhaps not............! johnnyknox
When you got home from the pub and started this thread about Man U how were you expecting it to go? This thread was designed to create a reaction...just look at the wording: "If you cant see he is the best player this season by a country mile you are a fool of the highest order." So please don't be shocked when you get one MaveriK
MaveriK
I started because a man who was supposed to be on the fence climbed off it and said things he shoudlnt of perhaps because he knew ronaldo didnt speaka da good lingo or perhaps for other reasons. I dont think Sir Alex will like what or how things were said nor do i think any united fan would. I honest dont think the tit would have stuck the microphone in Gerrards face after the "intent" dive and said the same. It was a disgrace, thats all i was pointing out and no i didnt think about where the thread would go after.
Jake
Well I've just seen the post match interviews on SkySports News and it seemed to me that Shreeves was just as provocative to Gareth Southgate as anyone. But then I'm not a biased supporter of either of the teams involved
