Eventually I want to buy a Supra GZ out in Spain in a cople of years (max I hope!). But I've tried searching on the net with no joy so far, what is the best way to get a LHD Supra GZ? tDR Posted July 27, 2004 Share Posted July 27, 2004 Hi Phil, They don't crop up in the UK..... not even sure if there is the same badging as the jap imports for the euro models so don't know if it would be a GZ but you're best looking to europe or perhaps importing from the states for a LHD TT HTH, Brian. Only the JDMs have those names...as far as i know So..in reality theres no way to tell the equipment-level of them...other than to check out what exstras it has got But fear not, most of them are VERY similar equipped...i suspect that the Supra only came in one form..and that you had to special-order it to get anything else If you want an LHD Supra TT...your best bet would be to get it from Germay/schwitzerland (not shure of the spelling )/Belgium or even Spain...as there seem to be a few of them left there..still Most of the Euro LHD-Supras tend to pop up on this site: http://www.mobile.de (not just german ones...) ...or you could try importing from the US...where the Suply of Supras are MUCH better than in mainland europe. Only trouble is...theres a lot you have to do to a US-Supra for it to be registered with spanish number-plates...new headlights/rear lights/possibly seatbelts etc. + the fact that the american Supras lacks many crucial things....dont ask why @lpher Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Green Peace Posted July 27, 2004 Share Posted July 27, 2004 I have been to Spain lots travelled all round and never ever seen a new shape Supra, I did see a few Mk3's in Madrid and the Costas...and a few Nissan 300's Apart from one that was a UK RHD owned by someone in Marbella and a Red one in Moraira nr Benedorm couple years back which was UK reg and again RHD. I have been told that the US soldiers in Germany and the UK often sale their cars when they bring them over, other than that stick with rhd or buy a US import...very few European owned ones as far as I know. I would be a bit dubious about 'I've never seen one in Europe' claims - look at our 'Was it you?' forum, only 3 or 4 spots a day, and that's with 100+ people keeping an eye out for them. I've not seen another Supra in about 3 months, so I suspect it's quite easy to go around Europe or to spend time there and never see one...? Your onto something there Dave In Norway, where i live, there are about 25 mkIV Supras...and this is in a coubtry with roughly 4,5 mill people....and i had never seen an mkIV before when i bought mine...and it took me almost a year til i laid my eyes upon another mkIV..other than myown..that is The reason i brought up Spain as an alternative..is the fact that i see ads for spanish mkIVs from time to time on http://www.mobile.de But your best alternative would still be Germany i suspect. So most of the mkIV's in scandinavia are summer-driven only! Green Peace Posted July 28, 2004 Share Posted July 28, 2004 Its great in Spain coz the Supra gets sooo much attention...I once parked in a small town to get a beer and something to eat somewhere in mid spain, by the time I got back to the car, it was surrounded by about 100 people even the Police and the local Priest (and his Mother) were all peering through the window etc...I had to go for a little walk until the crowd died down coz I was really embarresed...it was well funny. I´ll have a budget of around 10k and don´t really want modified as I´ve got no maintenance facilites over here and Jap engine specialists are non-existent as far as I know... But a Supra is rare in Europa. Only in the UK you see them a lot because of the imort market from Japan. The prices are a bit higher in Spain as well. Cheers mate, whats the deal with registering a car on spainsh plates, I heard you have to pay a tax but its all dependant on the car as to the rate etc etc etc... Yeah, realise this is a late reply but working allover the place for a while and only just had chance to settle down and start thinking about a jap toy again... With a budget of £10k youre best bet would be a RHD Supra, yes And as for maintenance...most of the larger Toyota-dealers have knowledge enough about the mkIV...and most dealers in mainland europe dont seem to mind if the car is RHD or LHD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Its the same here...it apparently doesnt matter if the car is RHD...when everyone else is driving LHD-cars (and driving on the side of the road that the car was made for) The mkIV Supra population in norway was at 8-10 cars only 3-4 years ago....and now...partially cause of JDM-import...were upto an estimated 55-60 mkIV Supras!
