Pixelfill
I've just won an auction on ebay, and received the goods from the seller, however unfortunately the item is incomplete, now checking the photo it shows exactly what I received (with the exception of the brochures in the background), but the description is pretty much cribbed from the sales brochure, however it does state "used 90% new" . the ebay auction is here The auction was for EDFC, and all I received was the control unit, the cables and 2 stepper motors, (one of which has seen better days - no rubber boot, and the insulation is boken at points revealing bare wire. The seller didn't want paypal, and only accepted cheque, so I have no protection from paypal or Visa. I've "Asked the seller a question" this morning, but as yet received no reply, where do I stand ? If I've got no chance of getting my money back can you buy replacement stepper motors (it's the older silver EDFC with the larger stepper motors) I hate ebay sometimes Mike

Nic
Only 2 motors, that's not good I hardly ever use ebay so can't help with advice I'm afraid. If you need a set of 4 new motors Mike, let me know, I can supply if needed. ps. the new motors will fit the controller.
Havard
I'd play it safe Mike and buy new ones if possible. You'll be well P1$$ed if you lose your money to some scammer. I won't use e-bay for this reason! H.

The problem is Paul, I've already paid him, and received the item, so I'm 'negotiating' with the seller, if I don't like the outcome I'll be filing a dispute, and potentially looking elsewhere. (Nic ) I'll keep you posted Mike

JustGav
Well, it should be easy enough to take him to small claims... you have his address where you sent the cheque?
Pete
That model number of EDKV3-12140 doesn't look good either? http://www.srbpower.com/tein/supperstreets-withuppermounts.php That comes up for MR2, not Supra (EDKV1-12120)?
Pixelfill
Oh Darn ! Forgive my ignorance, but what are the differences, I just assumed (yeah kick me later) that there was just one EDFC, and that if you had compatible Shocks (I have Tein Flex) then it would work. Looks like I might just have to request refund - obviously on the basis that the item isn't as advertised. Just goes to show I suck at Ebay Mike
Pete
Just goes to show I suck at Ebay First rule of eBay - They're all liers and thieves Second rule of eBay - They're all liers and thieves Third rule of eBay - Double check every single letter in the listing all over the page...and then assume they're lying about it. [edit] - forth rule - if it's too cheap re-read point one.
Pixelfill
Right I've just had a quick look around, and I'm guessing the only difference is the thread size on the motors. EDKV1-12120 - M12 and M12 EDKV3-12140 - M12 and M14 So if I were to get a replacement set of Motors then in theory it should work. can anyone confirm this (Nic ?) But I'm thinking my first option is to try for a refund. * goes away to consider the impact of using Ebay * Mike

Usually I do this, I think I've got a good case as the item description is Used 90% New If anything I think it's going to help me, as it covers up my ignorance. Pete
I'm sure the electronics box is the same Mike. It'll just be the motors that differ. Don't worry - it happens to the best of us. I once bought a RoadAngel and got a £15 router. Thankfully it got sorted out after I found out where they lived using 192.com and electoral role searches and their sent parcel details.
