Gerry
Get one Colin... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=92056 Just this minute got back in from a little blast to see Mum (legal requirement on Mothers Day) ! Had great fun, you just have to set your sights on pi**ing off more lowly cars than in the Supe. Still great to see the face of the bloke in the 4x4 with 2.5V6 in big letters on the back as I whizz by him coming out of a roundabout... Please note - not "into" a roundabout as it's very dodgy ! It's fun driving at the cars full potential as you just can't in the Supe. If you do - get it chipped, it's great to go off the speedo
CJ
I am definitely erring towards one. Now I need to finds a real bargain to push me into spending my hard earned. I was hoping for a £2k or less version but can only see one on autotrader for that money.
RedM
I'd love one of these but they just don't look very sturdy. Anyone been in an accident in one of these. I also think I'd look a proper wally in one. That's okay when I'm in the Supra but.......
mathew
top gear done a test with one. crashing it at 70mph into a concrete wall. held up pretty good
Ark
I drove one as a hire car for a few days - the gearchange was god-awful, but other than than it was a right hoot.
mathew
and you can park them front on into a curb!
Branners
Well, that's convinced me and Branners! damn right. All the ones I look at seem to be £5k plus which is expensive for a second car. JB
Chewie
and you can park them front on into a curb! My mate saw a Smart parked up like this. Being bit of a c*nt he drove right up to door by a few inches so the driver would have to climb in through the boot or passenger door. Konrad
I'd love one of these but they just don't look very sturdy. Anyone been in an accident in one of these. Funny thing is that this dwarf got out from 70 mph crash with concrete wall better then probably 95% of other cars Drivers place was virtually untouched There is link somewhere on our forum with test made by Top Gear... I would have waited until the twat came back then kicked the shit out of him to see if he thought that was funny too.
Branners
I would have waited until the twat came back then kicked the shit out of him to see if he thought that was funny too. probably not as funny as a rather large bald bloke squeezing in to a shoe box and juddering away with a dodgy semi-auto box. I really must arange a test drive of one of those beasties. Time to hunt down a Smart centre. JB

Pot
I know this thread's on about the usual smart, but I had a ride once in the Brabus Roadster, and I was suprised to find out we were pootling down the M4 at 110mph quite smoothly!... The comment about someone saying that his mate parked right up to the door made me think though, yes, they can fit in a tiny space head on, but if us non-smartcar owners had to leave room for their doors to open fully (The owner 'might' be 6'4 and 19 stone like me), wouldn't that make up enough space to park a normal car?... It's a tiny car, but a door's a door!...

I had the misfortune to break down in Bristol with the orange car and the AA arranged for a courtesy hire car - which turned out to be a Smart. As already stated, the gearchange took some getting used to and the first roundabout was terrifying as I thought it was going to tip over. But once iI got used to the foibles, it was quite fun as an around town type of car.
