Daston
Whats your budget for the Gfx card? Is a 8800 GTS in your price range? Also I think Nvidia are releasing their mid range 8 series gfx cards soon that should be a little cheaper. 4gb will be better however I cant see how faster ram will hurt the pc as mine is running 850 ram on a board that is only ment for 800 whats your 3Dmark06 score? Angarak
A BIOS update for the mobo may fix the RAM issue if it is officially recognised as a problem by the manufacturer.
colsoop
A large chunk of your budget should be for the g card. 8800 GTX is the best card but at £400 is a bit steep the GTs version (640 mb) is around £300. If you got one of the above im not sure the power supply would cut the mustard.
toyo rob
i was looking at the 7950- which has a gig rather than the 8800 which i can only find at 768. i take it same rules - bigger ram better. thanks for the help so far, keep it coming, cheers Rob
Daston
not always the case the bench marks are showing that the 8800 is much faster than the 7950 in newer apps however slower on older games. You can get the GTX for 350ish now and the GTS at £
