Horn not so horny

My stupid horn has stopped working!

I checked the horn push on the steering wheel which seems to be connected ok.

I had a look in the fusebox, and theres some sort of fuse/ relay block for the horn. I couldnt see how it comes out to check it though, do you simply pull it? I didnt want to break anything.

Anything else I should check?

Well I'm assumed it was bought as an aftermarket addon, unless these were an option from the factory ?

It has a momo wheel, which Ive seen on quite a few Supras... when I took the centre section off I was suprised to see a little TRD logo horn push in the centre of the wheel underneath.

You sure you haven't blown your normal fuse in the engine bay mate, under the fuse cover, and not the relay (larger one) ? It's a 15w one ,blue, and controls the hazards too. Pop your hazards on, if they don't work, that's your most likely problem. :)

Mine has gone a few times with an aftermarket horn.

Well I checked the fuse, and its fine. Will try a multimeter on the horn in the next couple of days ( off work tomorrow but the weather is artic just now ! )

I've had a brainwave though. My alarm is spliced ( badly with tape, not by me lol ) into the loom, and it must have a connection to make the hazards flash when the remote control is pressed. I will check these connections out!

dont forget that 99% of after market steering wheels need a negative wire connected to the bosskit, you may want to check that ;)

I have to admit to knowing bugger all about electrics :search:

I'll try to have a look at that but I dont really know what Im looking for tbh

After reading as many threads about horns as I can , I now suspect something wrong with the wiring at the steering wheel boss.

The self cancellation of indicators doesn't work properly either on mine... one direction works but not quite at the points youd want it to , and the other direction doesnt seem to work at all

I'd suspect it was that too, when I fitted my Momo wheel, the boss didn't have anywhere for me to attach the earth wire, I ended up creating a point for it to go onto...

I noticed the indicators didn't always cancel too, but I can't say for sure if they always did before, luckilly I've driven enough old bangers in the past for me to be used to cancelling them myself...

Had another quick look behind horn push ... and it has a wee TRD horn button -

Behind that you can see the red wire with blue end that goes onto the horn button... what Id like to know is what the other white connector thats sitting there is for ?
