Newgendesign
I hope someone could give a quick description on how to remove the headlamps (Im swapping for glass ones as we speak. Ive managed to remove all three bolts from passenger side one but no matter how hard i jiggle, it looks like its not going to come free from the bumper housing. How the hell does it come out? I thought the drivers side one was supposed to be more tricky? # Help! Jez
mawby
You gotta pull it! When I did mine it took a bit of effort. The bolts easily catch on the holes in the bodywork which means you have to pull it out at the right angle, that's once you've broken the seal of rubber and dirt where they haven't moved in so many years. Bobbeh
Taken from the technical reference section: "You first need to remove the headlamps from the car. There are 3 bolts holding each lamp in, on the drivers side of the car you will need to remove the front to the airbox. Ideally you should remove the whole airbox to get to the difficult bolts. I had to use a socket, extension, UJ, extension and ratchet to get to the difficult bolt so expect this to take some time. Then just unplug the connectors and ease the lights out." Newgendesign
Oh god. Dont wanna pull the poxy bumper off. Here goes... Are you sure? Looks like there is a bit of "give" but blinkin flip....
SimonB
They can be a bit hard to get out. If you've removed the three bolts you just need to pull it towards you. There's a kind of push on thing at the bottom inside edge that holds it on and can be tough. Just pull harder...
mawby
If the bumber comes off as well then there's something seriously wrong! Just pull it out using the bolts as a guide to the angle to pull it at. Also try pushing it from behind and underneath and wiggling it to try and free it. Once the initial suction is broken they'll come out easy enough. Newgendesign
Aha! Here it comes....."Pop" wahhh....! I'm the proud owner of a bouncing baby discoloured japspec passenger light. I'll put it on ebay I think..Amazing the difference in weight compared with the glass ones... Anyway - thanks for the tips guys. Tomorrow evening Ill do drivers side. I installed xenon bulbs aswell while i was at it - wow what a difference! Pure white light rather than the amber original! I will have a pair of jap spec lights for sale iminently - as I mentioned above, passenger side is rather foggy but good nick, and drivers side is absolutly crystal clear and new (think it was replaced shorlty before I bought car). In fact drivers side looks like the glass one Ive just installed (its that new). Any offers? Jez
