Guest BTTOS Posted March 13, 2007 Share Posted March 13, 2007 I’m hoping that members from this board may be able to help track down the person behind a company that is suppose to have ceased trading. The story (sit down a make a brew, because it’s a long one) Back at the end of 2005 a number of cars owners and members of a car club based in the north west were looking to have work done on their cars and have full re-sprays or repair’s to their cars. After seeing a few pictures of work from the company that had just started advertising and started in business on the site a number of members decided to have the work done. The company was called RPE customs. The work was done and appeared to be an acceptable standard. It was only after a short period of time that the members realized how bad the work actually was. Were talking about 2 months after work was completed. under the car NOT sprayed the mirrors where also NOT sprayed correctly the inside of the door is just over spray so red is coming thru Boot, Wheel, Bumper, door trim chipped paint there are about another 15 pictures as well showing the extent of the work As you can see (an example of a members car) this is well below the standard that was expected and not the work which was quoted. When the proprietor was approached about the quality of work he refused to admit liability, or come to an amicable resolution of the problem. In fact what he did was disappear off the face of the planet. Wouldn’t return calls, letters or emails. Also numerous visits occurred to solve this dispute were the parties were told they would not receive a refund of rectification of work. After lengthily legal proceedings the parties were in, they were advised they wouldn’t be able to take this any further, receive a refund or compensation because of the fact that the proprietor was no longer trading. (Claiming) It has come to the member’s attention that Rob, formally of RPE customs, is now offering his services to members of this board, via a new name NW Autobodies. So my purpose here is for two things. Firstly, to warn members here that this guy shouldn’t be trusted. Secondly, could members that have used Rob please provide me with a contact name/address so the members can continue with their legal proceedings. As you are all car enthusiast I am sure you will understand why this post is here, a lot has happened between the parties involved. Threats towards the members have occurred and all they ever wanted was the best for their cars, like all the members on here. I have also had a little browse of the site and it seems a few members have received work of Rob, very impressed with the work now but there are a number of car owners who are far from impressed with his work and they just want justice and there cars to be in satisfactory condition. The members paid Rob to do a job which was far from what was produced. I hope the forum members on here have no probelms like the people i know. Thank you for your time Thanks in advance. But he is a club member and advertising his company under his username and some services in his sig as well as a URL to the company concerned in his profile... in addition to this the member who recommended him is also advertising him in his sig. Not doubting you, but you could just be one pee'd off customer yourself and out to do someone a disservice with some pics from some car in a scrappers. That should (rightly) piss Knight Racer off. It's a subtle hint at services offered in the sig but the rest is quite blatant. It's a tricky one, strictly speaking he shouldn't be advertising himself but it's perfectly OK for a member too because we are nice like that. I'm sure someone with a bit of clout will be here soon to sort things out but in the meantime let's hope the chap in question finds a moment to add to this. I think that is rather out of order, spray peoples cars and when they complain and are un happy you run off and hide away, ignore and pretend its not happeing! No one is slagging u off, facts are being stated and if you had sorted the members from the start (like a ligit company is run) then maybe this wouldnt of happened I really do feel sorry for my mates with one who has already payed out on a new respray and others waiting............ The first one is that there are a number of people registered on the forum with a company name that are not authrorised traders. We will be going through the member list to identify those people and asking them to provide us with an alternative username and we will change their username to that. This will also include removing their company names from their profiles and member titles. The second one is the advertising of traders (authorised and non-authorised) in peoples signatures. This has been going on for a while and we are finding traders advertised in those signatures that we have never heard of. We are going to ask everybody to remove links to all traders from their signatures so that there can be no confusion on this and no fuzzy lines of distinction. Authorised traders can obviously keep links to their own company, as can hobbyists etc. I know its good to show that you are happy with a trader by putting them in your sig, but it is very difficult to monitor. Your cars were readly for the scrap yard, full of rust, dents and accident damage, I charged you £500/£600 (you asked for the cheapest job possible) to repair various accident damage, corrosion and even finished in metal flake-pearl at no extra cost at which you was totally happy with for months! Then when you decide you want a new respray you ring up trying to blackmail me saying you want paying out £2000 or you'll slag me off on every forum possible (which you have) If you want to take this further, go ahead you dont have a leg to stand on, but please send real solicitors letters this time;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guess not At the begiining from the links posted the members either asked for there money back or the rectification of your work, u refused!! and love the comment about the cars were ready for the scrap yard, if they are so bad, scrap yard ready why are they been driven round now? and accident damaged u really do talk out of your rear, if anyone would like the regs to check up on the so called cars, drop a pm and i am sure i can get hold of them, to show they werent accident damgaed let alone scrap yard ready The members paid you for a job, doesnt matter about the price as they paid u for a specific service and as the links show they didnt actually ask for the cheapest job they asked you for YOUR quote on the work, YOUR opinion of the price it will cost!!! All YOUR words!!! and yeh i can see this as ever car forum, it was BTTOS, were it happened, i dont think people are going to speak highly of you after what you have done, are you high or something? living in a dream world i guess Anyway, body repaire is not a hobby for you its so you can make money fast and easy and your not actually intrested in what you produce let alone the cars.......... this all proves this Your trying to pull a fast one on the Supra Owners club, End off!!! Also you have not identify yourselves in anyway contact details name etc etc why? Your only working off pure 'hearsay' and i.e. "my mates said this" which implies that this is not first hand information and backed up with independent impartial facts for example the car in question is my car and I've had an engineers/expert report done showing that Rob/Autobodies are at fault. NWautobodies contact details (rightly or wrongly) are on this forum plus in the yellow pages So how exactly has he disappeared on the face of plant? I've had no problems with contacting and in fact he willing gave me his mobile number and txt me updates about my car that he was working on at 12 o'clock at night! After dealing with Rob for months now and hearing other local members say very nice things about him(who im sure would speak up on Rob's behalf) i find your comments very hard to believe! For example i drove my car back from the Rob's place after being resprayed and got hit with a shower of rubble of the back off a pick up and was really upset! Rob the next day after reading on this forum offered to fix it for free!!! Now that is customer service! I will obviously pay towards the cost but that's not the point! Im sure that i will be dealing with Rob again and in fact have just recommend another mate of mine to discuss resprays with him!
