stylieee
anyone got any pics of mat-black painted supras? i'm toying with the idea but can't make my mind up. also, would the bodywork be more prone to rust with mat paint? im just thinking that it would be more porus without any lacquer wouldnt it? tbourner
I'd quite like a matt black Scooby or Evo I think, very stealth.

AntD
Isn't the Do-Luck Supra matt black? http://www.do-luck.co.uk/images2/jza80late1.jpg
stylieee
wouldn,t you use a matt/satin laquer? ahh good thinking! i'm still not decided... i'm gonna have veilside skirts, spats, overfenders, and top secret front. thought mat black might look mean, but it would be cheaper to stick with the toyota black it already is. DaveK
Although I'm sure it would look quite cool matt black, I don't think I'd be so impressed after I'd spent a couple of hours cleaning the car and it still didn't shine.
Sheefa
I remember you mentioning it Si Will look good. I think it needs to be done a few times though for it to grow on me. More coats are probably needed too for it to have real cred.
ChrisSZ
Matt black is almost impossible to keep clean:( Sain black is much better - I had a crappy old Granada which I played around with and soon discovered this
colsoop
I think with the right kit it would look very nice in matt / satin black, i remember seeing an rx7 done this way. Thge only thing that would bother me is some numpty coming up to me saying when are you going to spray it Matt black is almost impossible to keep clean:( Sain black is much better - I had a crappy old Granada which I played around with and soon discovered this Very mad max esque
rik
Agreed. My Supra is satin for the same reason. I had a cortina that was matt, and it went a bit chalky after a while.
ChrisSZ
I've always liked satin black motors - just not had the biggy smalls to do it again (the Granny was a £50 from the scrappy job) :)
Schtuv
Is that like chalk board black? Now that'd be cool ... Imagine being able to write a new shopping list down the door every day and draw your own comedy vents on every panel when you feel like it! I was thinking about the matt black look over the last few days, mainly from a radar absorbing paint point of view, as I'm too cheap to buy a roadangel.
