Reverse alarm/buzzer

Faith Adopter

Recommended Posts

Hi again,

Does anyone know the answers to the following questions please? Only I am new(ish) to the Supra world (after purchasing Faith Stalkers Storm Blue TT)

Regarding the reverse buzzer/alarm does anynone know how to disconnect this? If so, is it fairly easy?

I've heard a rumour that small (bike style) number plates are now legal for Jap imports (latest edition of Japanese Performance), if so where can I get some from and what size do these need to be? (any picts would be fantastic)

My Supe has a standard fit toyota rear sun visor, are these easy to remove? If so, does anyone have any tips and tricks in doing so without damaging the paintwork?

Thanks once again for all your help

Hi Faith Adopter

Welcome to the board :)

Reverse buzzer I'm not sure about so hopefully someone will answer shortly.

Number plates, try http://www.fancyplates.com - just done a search on here and there's a thread about this company - they seem to be pretty good.

From what I remember about people wanting to remove their rear sun visor, it's a major P.I.T.A. as they are not only screwed on but glued on as well and the glue is bloody strong.

You may have problems with getting that part off :(

Hope that helps :)

Yeah, those visors can be a nightmare. Mine was removed by the previous owner and needed to have the paint touched touched up. Fortunately the sale of the visor paid for it :D

Maybe a bodywork expert can remove it with a bit more success tho ?

 your beeper

The beeper is nasty, life is much more pleasant with out it. As baldy says its on the back of the rev counter, just pull it out :)

As with a lot of the stuff sold on here, they just go for the best offer via PM. I have seen (I think) anything between 50 and 250. 250 seems OTT but I imagine Toyota would charge a fair bit more than that. I simply advertised mine for 50 (as I thought it was hideous and ruined the look/lines of the car) and sold to the first person very quickly.

Some people love them though, and I will admit that even I like them on some cars. They do seem to look especially good on aerotops when the roof is out.

Welcome to the forum Faith Adopter.

I can understand why you may want to change the rear plate. It was rather large on Faithstalkers car. Mine was the same when i bought my Supra. I just went to a local independant auto store and had them make plates.

Anyone have a link to this in writing? I really need to sort my front numberplate. Its been off since September last year, but I know its only a matter of time before I get caught.

Hey Hey Faith Adopter,

Re : Rear Visor, I unscrewed the screws about a year ago and attempted to see what was underneath, there are a series of sticky pads (you can just see them) at either end of the visor,

and in the middle bit,

the way i was told to do it was to heat these up with a hairdryer and get a blunt plastic thing to slowly prise them off, if lucky you will have no paint work worries, but the glue residue left can be a bugger to get off.

dont worry about wrecking the pads, these can be replaced from anywhere

....i opted to leave it alone.....

ps. Leon sent the warranty back to me but he didnt pay the correct money so its been sent to my local post office . I'll pick it up saturday and then sort out my claim from the warrant company and send it on to you ASAP.

pps. did it pass its mot

pppppps. glad to see you on the board!

Hi Faith Stalker!

I am absolutely loving the Supra but unfortunately due to the recent long hours at work I haven't been able to drive it that much (although a trip back to Ox and possibly JAE this weekend should see to that!!) :D

Thanks for letting me know re; the warranty book and yes it breezed through the MOT without any probs, in fact the tester informed me that he rarely finds imports have problems with the emissions.

RE the rear spoiler Adam had one on his Celica which ended up breaking when he attempted to remove it.... think I'll give it a bit of thought before charging in with a hair drier and dental floss at the ready...

Hope the packing is going well!

PS did you personally notice any power differences when using BP Ultimate and Optimax?

I prefered Optimax, but thats because i'm a big Ferrari F1 Fan, but between either no not really,

although it takes about 3 or 4 startups before the ECU remaps to the different octane, so usually i didnt notice any difference cos the fuel would be gone by the 2nd start up and i'd need to refill :-) :-)

packing is going slowly, international removers seem to not realise that we need to get out soon, they are so slow and getting back to me !

got that Blitz Zaust on there yet?
