Ryan.G
My uk brakes on my j-spec supra and the brakes dont really bite to really low down on the pedal play. Now today i bled the whole system and checked all the pads had enough meat on them and i still have the same problem. Some air did come out and i thought that would solve the problem. Has 5.1 fluid and braided lines Im stumped is there any way to adjust pedal to make bite earlier and reduce play Thanks

hiten55
im not sure, allways found autos to have a slightly less controlled braking system than manuals, but its probably just me
Kranz
Could be wear in the master cylinder causing the presure to only build up further down the pedal travel????
Ryan.G
anyway to diagnose this buddy or is it trial and error how easy is it to refurb mbc
Kranz
If it keeps getting lower then its the MC! A quick hone (if required) and new seals usually makes it better. Could just be the seals as these wear most. Just whip it out, dismantle, refit seals and put it back together.

SimonB
It won't be the trac control as you have a Jspec and it's only connected to the brakes on UK/US. Have you got the anti-squeel shims on the back of the pads? If so take them off and see if that improves things, they can cause a bit of sponginess. Plus check for leaks and bleed 'em again I guess. _Rob_
See if the brake lights come on when you initially press the pedal.. Mine seemed to only bite quite low down, however I noticed the brake lights didnt come on untill the pedal got quite low down, so ive put it down to the pedal requiring adjusting. I havnt got round to doing it yet though, so not sure if it works!
