scooby_doo_do
Silly question, but i have a rover V8 from an SD1 that i'm trying to re-wire. I'm just curious where i put the output from the alternator. I thought it would go to the positive on the battery, but thought i would just check first..... Thanks Craig. Kranz
Yep battery positive. One small wire goes to the alternator warning light (blue wire?) and the small red wire goes to the switched ignition feed.
absz
battery positive will be fine:) but its normally wired to the starter motor which then links it to the battery. keeping the lead short and wiring neat.

That's the way normally, unless your battery is closer to the alt than the starter?? And watch out for exhaust heat melting the wires on the V8!! scooby_doo_do
http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber/large/0085.jpg - That'll explain the burnt out red wire that we found ;-) The thick cable goes to the battery positive. Not sure about the others. I have an autoelctrician coming over tommorrow night to take a look for me :-) Thanks for the help guys.
