Conrad
A mate of mine owns a bar and is a good friend with somebody at the chain of Varsity bars. They were on about doing something similar to the Gumball 3000 (but obviously on a much smaller scale) in the UK. They would incorporate The Varsity/Barracuda chain of bars as check points and have it nationwide. They were thinking of approaching each of the owners clubs and inviting a couple of teams from each. Obviously this is all pie in the sky at the moment but I just wondered what peoples opinions on this would be. Has it been done before? Is it legal? Would people be interested do you think? flukey-lukey
Nice idea. Some of the guys from here are competing in this in June, http://www.modball.com Its over Europe, but is still quite cheap to enter. Maybe these guys could et some ideas from it? I'd be interested in a UK modball, would be cheaper on fuel than Europe I suppose
Pot
They would incorporate The Varsity/Barracuda chain of bars as check points **Programs them all into his Sat Nav... lol**
AJI
its been done a number of times in the UK in the past. Only problem is that when it becomes opened up to all the public to enter you get an entry list full of chavs in flower power novas & corsas etc. If youre mate is organising such an event I would reccommend he restricts entry to certain car clubs and selected mates only. Nothing worse than a chav who thinks he needs to race bigger cars and throw the whole event into controversy.
