Dave F
Going to see a landrover defender 90 tomorrow as the g/friend has always wanted one. Its done 90k and comes with all previous mots. Apart from the usual things to check what should I be looking out for. Its a TDi by the way. Thanks Dave

Thanks Dave Spend a long time checking the chassis all over paying attention to the areas where the springs and shocks are mounted. It will probably have surface rust, but you are looking for more serious weakening Make sure you run your hand up and check the top of the box section chassis for holes and rust. Listen for knocks and growls from the drivetrain, and corrosion to the brake pipes. Whatever happens, be prepared to lose lots of money in maintenance and runnning costs. Rob
Try buying an S111 for £1200 and then having to sell it for £200 three months later, and you'll see just how big a thing the chassis corrosion is.
