Havard
I did this about 6 months ago. It's brill!! I can even show my mates how much money I've got in the comfort of my own home!! Not that a bank statement would have done the same before but you know what I mean!! H.
Voo51
This is great!! Its so easy to pay bills and keep and eye on your money when ever you want! Its so easy, although a few months back there was issues about some banks charging for the online service.
Matt H
although a few months back there was issues about some banks charging for the online service. Really, that would be ludicrous if you think about it cos the only thing i can see online banking doing for the banks themselves is saving them money! no need for staff! Voo51
Yep! I cant remember the reasons for it it was hsbc i think as there partner or whatever it is first direct banking currently charge to use the online service.

Pete
Problem is, it's very easy to transfer payments from the wrong account. I've done that a couple of times now.
Pabs
I have not used "regular" banking for years now! Current account is online, savings account online, Credit cards both online, and ISA is online too. Everything is transferred between them online, no paperwork whatsoever. It's wicked. Pabs
sounds like the way forward! appart from the credit card mind, defo dont want to get into those things! yeah - definately. However, 1 CC is for emergencies only, and the other CC is paid off every month - i use it purely for the added security with online transactions, and the 2% cashback

DaveK
yeah - definately. However, 1 CC is for emergencies only, and the other CC is paid off every month - i use it purely for the added security with online transactions, and the 2% cashback I do the same with one of my CCs - where do you get 2% cashback?
Pabs
I do the same with one of my CCs - where do you get 2% cashback? Morgan Stanley - however just looking at it I think it's now dropped to 1%.
RobSheffield
hmm, might have to set myself up - can i be bothered?
Pabs
Right - i've had the CC since August 06. I use it almost purely for Petrol costs, which are about £350-400 a month. So far I have earned over £55 in cashback. So that, to me, works out to be almost spot on 2%. In that time, I've also earned about £60 in Nectar points. All for simply using the cards when I fill up. I think it's quite good really
DaveK
I'll look into Morgan Stanley then. I think Egg has dropped to about 0.1% now.
Pabs
looking here: http://www.morganstanleycard.co.uk/ *Earn up to 3% cashback bonus on all purchases*...... However, I only seem to get 1% now, so not really sure why?
Henk
i can see why! Sorry, no offence intended, I guess because I work in IT I've been doing this for years. Grats to you!
DaveK
looking here: http://www.morganstanleycard.co.uk/ *Earn up to 3% cashback bonus on all purchases*...... However, I only seem to get 1% now, so not really sure why? As usual, the truth is in the small print..... 1% on the first £2K you spend in a year, then 0.5% on the rest. Cashback is only available on the first £20K you spend in each year. If you join now, they will triple the cashback bonus up to (and including) 1st July 2007 - hence the 3% figure they mention. My credit card bill probably averages over £1K per month - so I'd earn 1% for less than 2 months and then be on 0.5%. Egg site is down at the moment, but I'll take a look later and see how little I get on that these days.
Pabs
ah yes, too true. But hey - even 0.5% is better than nothing from other cards - Capital One gives me nothing - hence it is just a backup/emergency.
