Paypal question

When setting up confirmed bank account, Paypal puts x amount into your account, and you tell them how much it was, so that they know its you.

They did it AGES ago, i can just never be arsed to go to the bank and ask!

Is there a time limit on this at all, as in, how long do i have to sort it?

I found this a right PITA, along with most other things in Paypal (before you sign up it seems so so so easy - is it bollocks). I don't think there is a time limit (an amount was put into my account over 3 years ago and they're still asking for the number), but most internet banking statements don't go back further than a few months, and I don't keep my paper statements. I'm not going to ask the bank because I can't be bothered to go there in person and they'll proabably try and illegally charge me an admin fee for extracting archived data.

I just got charged by ebay for my bank refusing a direct debit payment (ebay seller fees), the bank are also trying to charge me (if I had more time and it was worth more money I'd nail them for this). My bank account is healthy, the debit was refused because the card on my paypal account had expired (no-one told me - even a quick email reminder would've been nice).

That probably seemed quite dis-jointed - I could rant on all week about this. Grrr - I hate Paypal and I despise my bank. Time for a few changes..........

....

Rant over.

Anyway, in answer to your question I don't think there is a time limit.

They take £1.00 out of your account but attached a 4 digit number to the description of the transaction. that is the number you need then they credit your account with £1.00.

Takes a few days tho. :)

I think he knows what to do mate - he's just asking about the timeframe in which he has to do it. ;)

Fo Show, what i'm saying is, the process has now changed. Its always a £1 charge. No time limit, but if you leave it a long time it will be difficult for you to track the number.

They paid 2 small amounts into mine, and i had to tell them what they were, no ref number

It doesnt seem to have much of a limit - mine was paid in in December, and i just sorted it today :)

right, to update this.

I sorted the bank details thingy out, but im still unverified, i think its because i only updated last week.

Attached is a screenshot of my 'to do list' showing that it wants business details. I highlighted in yellow what its reffering to, but i dont have a business acount - it says 'UK-unverified (0)' and i dont even know what the zero is for :(

What the heck do i do? I have tried emailing [email protected] to no avail :(

it says 'UK-unverified (0)'

I think the (0) is a bit like the feedback rating system in ebay (i.e. it is suppopsed to increase with successful transactions). Mine is (5) and I'm verified (I'll try and remember how it happened but it was over 2 years ago). I've used Paypal loads of times but my number hasn't shifted for years...........

Sorry not to be more helpful.
