garetheves
Whats the difference between the normal 350Z and the fairlady?? I always thought that the fairlady was the soft top but im sure ive just seen a fairlady with a hard top. Also, a long shot i know, but are there any 350Z owners in the North West that would take me out for a spin in one, quite fancy one as my next car. Rayman
Fairlady is the import slightly lower spec as standard than the Uk model but cheaper, nice cars! They make a good noise too!
rob wild
Fairlady an import name maybe? Yep http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Key_Term:Fairlady_Z There is a couple at Mascrat Gaz might be worth having a word but TBH went out in a neighbours to the local and it was smart but did'nt feel that quick by Supra TT / single standards. garetheves
Cheers for the replies guys, that clears that up . Yep http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Key_Term:Fairlady_Z There is a couple at Mascrat Gaz might be worth having a word but TBH went out in a neighbours to the local and it was smart but did'nt feel that quick by Supra TT / single standards. I know they are not as quick as a TT Supra but with 280 Bhp standard they aint gonna hang around, plus theres always the option of a Supercharger in the future (if i can put it in without the missus finding out that is )
DaveK
The guy I bought my Supra from also had a 350Z. Was quite positive about it.
Pete
Only car I'd consider chopping my Supra in for.
razza
fairlady, sounds a bit, well you know heard stories that the interior is a bit cheap and starts to rattle after a while, might be better now that they've been around a while though... Dragonball
Nice cars - really like ours... not as fast as you say - manual NA territory IMHO
hogmaw
Only car I'd consider chopping my Supra in for. I'd have to agree with that. I've never been in one though and I'd change my mind if it's as 'slow' as some people say
Thorin
Don't the new ones have ~330BHP? Nice cars, I do like them a lot, soft-top completely ruins the look of them though IMO.
Gaz6002
My dads also got one. Very nice car IMO Good sounds and well built. I think the engine screams out for tuning though. I'd like a twin turbo one.
Millsy
Great ergonomics too. Feel really good to drive. If you only had one car a 350z would be awesome. Don't feel amazingly quick, but quick enough. I'd definitely have one.

Thorin: Completely agree, the soft top ruins the look of them.

garetheves
i bought this one last night 6 speed , brembos its for lady customer in york grade 5 only 9000km How much was it OTR J? Wouldnt be getting it until June anyway so may be tempted to import one rather than get one here. Anyone know if the difference in insurance between UK and Jap is as much in the Z's as it is in the Supra's??
Sheefa
Lovely cars Gaz and I would also consider that as an upgrade purchase to the Supe. I saw a few on the Midlands Gumball 2006, and there was a gorgeous modified Blue 350Z. They look the dogs. What's the handling like though - any good reviews? Anyone know if the difference in insurance between UK and Jap is as much in the Z's as it is in the Supra's?? this one was grade 5 9000km and it will cost her £15100 registered on road, cat 1 included and service done fully converted too (clocks, fog, de limiter) she is paying me 11k now rest on arrival
Gaz6002
What's the handling like though - any good reviews? Not sure about the review but they handle beautifully. They are more controllable than the Supra IMO and feel very solid on the road. My opinions are based on a car with the GT pack though so the basic model may not be as good.
