Rayman
Yeh nice, not to difficult to do really, machine polished probably with a porter cable, i have one they are very good especially on black. Not much use on my white one tho!
Lucas
Ok I can see what they have done to the car and it looks fanatasic but what do they mean I had the car detailed?
JustGav
Detailing is the next level of valetting.... You basically mop the paint and return the car to better than show room finish.. and you do it ALL over the car, wheel arches the lot... I take it that is not something you can do yourself or?
JustGav
You can do it yourself... The missus and I do it on our own cars and friends cars ever now and then. It is just a matter of sourcing the chemicals which is not overly difficult, and having practice with a random orbital polisher. It is more a matter of time and dedication than anything else. JustGav
Your best bet is to have a word with Pete Richards, as he is a valeter (and detailer), and he can supply the various polishes/waxes and the like. (He also sells a mean sheepskin washmitt)
JustGav
Ah right nice one cheers. Any chance I could be a friend for a day You are welcome to come up one saturday when we do a car...and you can see the various bits and pieces... although I'm only a hobby detailer and not a pro like some of the people I've seen. JustGav
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=959 If look at Graham S's garage, you will see the sort of results even the home hobbyist can get. Bear in mind we only did the body panels this time, since time was running out.. My fav shot is the one of the door.
Trig
Wow! id love to have that done on mine, some parts are looking a bit crap...
colsoop
It isn't too hard, you wont get resulkts like that by hand though ! to see the imperfections you need flourescent lighting, looking at your paint under this light will make you i have a porter cable polisher with the right mops and compounds to do the job and have achieved similar results on my old mans Astra i should be doing a friends Supra soon.
