Read the post..............I know it wasn't typed by yourself (oh great one!) but it is quite informative. In that it state's :- Tried it this morning with mate watching light, TC-AB-TC-AB about 10 times and it flickered THEN off.... Comes on with ignition and goes out after ~5 seconds (sounds OK ? like a 'check light' ?) Sounds pretty normal for airbag indicator activity to me, now unfortunately it is permanently lit again. Steve, this usually becomes tripped when that top piece of the dash is disconnected and somebody turns on the ignition. I guess it may be worth you just pulling that piece of the dash off and checking connectors before reseting the light again. If it keeps coming on after that then maybe there really is a fault with the airbag circuit.
Guest Mycroft
Lord Mycroft is fine, don't over do it. Yawn......Read the post, and perhaps he may get lucky and if Steve you remove-replace (10secs min) the DOME fuse you might just clear the fault, if not then doing it to a strict time is most likely to do the trick. The above is the most probable cause/cure for the continued 'distress' signal, below is the least likely problem. Now to the bit which does give me some concern, if you have been 'behind the dash' and ferreting around in there you MAY just have dislodged some of the wiring that comes from the Impact trigger, for christs sake don't go fiddling around there if you have, if you think this maybe what you have done or somebody before you did, then you MUST disconnect the battery and tie the leads away from the terminals (cables have 'memory' and try to go back to their 'home', after you have done this you can take a look at the trigger box, I cannot emphasise how careful you must be, if you have a digital Camera take a photo and print it out for reference, only then carefully check things over.
