garycTT
I have a 1993.5 K plate Jap spec Supra TT and I would like to put the later spec uk lights onto it. The toyota garage say that the headlights fit straight on, but the sidelights would be relocated to where the indicators are now. The garage say that the newer spec sidelights/indicators do not fit in the standard bumper. I thought this was a fairly popular mod, can anyone help, or point me in the direction of a fitting guide for this mod? Cheers Gary
Ian W
it is a fairly popular mod mate and the newer spec sidelights will fit into the bumper but will require some rewiring iirc. i'm afraid i can't help you with the fitting guide (try a search) but i can point out that you're not looking at UK spec lights (which incidentally were different again as they were glass) but face-lifted jspec lights. Faye
There was another guide done recently by a chap, but I can't for the life of me find it on the search - anyone else remember it? Edit: this is the one I was thinking of http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=100388&highlight=facelift
kslb
I have the 98 and as far as i can see it don't look difficult, obviously the indicators are in with the new sidelights and do look better. I made the mistake of getting rid of my facelift headlights and got uk glass ones and they don't look as good. Good luck sorry wasn't much help but should be straight forward. garycTT
Cheers guys, I think I should be able to fit those, doesnt look too difficult. Only query now is which are better, facelift jap spec or the uk spec glass ones ?
Faye
Better? I'm afraid that is all down to a matter of opinion. In theory the UK lights will weather better as they are glass and won't yellow, but I'm biased and prefer the look of the facelifts
Ian W
Cheers guys, I think I should be able to fit those, doesnt look too difficult. Only query now is which are better, facelift jap spec or the uk spec glass ones ? all down to preference mate (and your wallet). facelifted lights are £400+ UK glass ones are around £250.
