Thanks everyone, i feel alot better now :)

i guess I'm just thinking too much, the only person who i know had one was my friends father back when i was at school and i think then it was a more complicated op.

all the best Jon, for you and all your family, like has been said it is a routine operation these days.

it is natural to feel worried especially at short notice, but so many of these are done i am sure it will be fine for your father.

you know everyone will be thinking of you on Wednesday.

Jon, sorry to hear your bad news mate. You gotta keep your chin up, i'm sure your Dad will be fine. My Dad, who is now 67, had a triple heart bypass in 2000. He didnt drink or smoke, just suffered from a bit of stress and high cholesterol. I dont remember being so scared ever, i was about 18 at the time. Its a time like this mate, to pull the family together and all be there for each other. I'm sure he will be very much looked after. Take care chap, will be thinking of you, your family and your Dad.

just got back from the hospital, the op went fine, blood pressure is a bit up and down but they said that's normal.

it was really upsetting seeing him like that though, tubes everywhere :( he was still feeling the effects of the anesthetic as he kept drifting off when i was talking to him.

he did say keep out his garage, so sounds like he'll be back to his normal self soon..

thanks everyone for all your kind words, it made me feel so much better
