michael Posted March 5, 2007 Share Posted March 5, 2007 I've got an opportunity to pick up a Saxo VTR cheaply with a view to selling it on for a few pounds more, however it has an issue where it stalls when coming to a stop. You can drive along OK but when you reach a junction you have to keep the revs up to stop it stalling. I realise there could be a few reasons for this but was hoping we might have a secret Saxo expert here that might know it as a common fault Any ideas? It's a tatty little thing, needs a bit of trim and stuff but it's cheap so I'm tempted to buy it and have a little tinker to keep me amused. colsoop Posted March 5, 2007 Share Posted March 5, 2007 It sounds like a similar problem i had with my old vts, i can't remember the exact name of the part. It was something like airflow sensor or meter. You had to keep the revs up or it would drop too low and stall. About £50 to fix IIRC. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

TrickTT Posted March 6, 2007 Share Posted March 6, 2007 There is a hard plastic pipe with a push fitting that runs from the intake pipe to the manifold (on the top right hand side of the engine) which is prone to splitting. This would cause your symptoms and cost about £10 to replace. Was a while ago that i last fixed one so i dont have the part number any more.
