R3DG3CKO ROB
I've noticed a few threads asking about this but has anyone actually done it? There was a mention about having to have manual entry to the vehicle for the MOT but my mates Tuscan had a button for entry under the wing mirrors and there was def no way of climbing out of the boot? I guess this requirement is for the emergency services to get into the vehicle rather than the driver getting out as you'd still have handles on the inside wouldn't you? supragold
My mates done it on his chargespeed. No entry buttons anywhere.

R3DG3CKO ROB
ahhh, I was chatting to Jason at Ace in January - bit of a pipe dream at the moment but i'd love to get it done I'll have to have a chat with him at the next meet and see what's involved. SupraAyf
It's not expensive either from what I gather. the guys that have just done my car (and are now doing Si's Fatboy Supe) have just converted their Celica show-car where the buttons are in the wing wirrors - very nice idea! R3DG3CKO ROB
yeah, My mates tuscan was just awesome soooo classy The handles are starting to fade on mine and rather than getting them re-conditioned I was thinking it would look a bit more interesting... and different... might try and get some folding mirrors at the same time

colsoop
What about come MOT time ? isn't there some sort of requirement to have access ? What about flush fitting handles like on an Aston or Audi TT ?
Supragal
Mine. I use the boot as the 'manual point of entry' for MOT (nb I've not actually MOT'd it yet!)
Supragal
The only problem with the fob is if your out and the battery dies how do you get in climb through the boot like I do every time. If I can get through my massive rear seats then you can on a normal interior!!

Have you got any pics of your car??? I really don't understand the whole emergency exit thing??? You still have standard handles on the inside don't you? Supragal
for the MOT you need a manual form of entry, presumably if you are in teh car and someone needs to get you out? Dunno really I always thought that if I had crashed and the emergency services needed to get me out they'd cut it anyway. Who knows. SOmeone will explain it I'm sure. Anyway, yes, pic here. http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/2407/small2ko4.jpg
R3DG3CKO ROB
Manual form of entry..... yeah I guess that makes sense, lovely car by the way
terribleturner
Through the boot, i like it I had to do that with my Montego after locking my keys in it.
toyotasuprauk
I don’t really understand the manual point of entry thing for the MOT. If you have a crash and need to be got out, the emergency services won’t have the key to the boot.

If you have a crash and need to be got out, the emergency services won’t have the key to the boot. But it's the door handles they need No door handles will make it harder to get into the car. monkey76364
I like that, think it looks good. Never did think that the handels were the nicest on the Supra.
Guest blueangel
I spoke to a tester and was told that if the handles were smoothed over you need another way of opening the door manually like the buttons under the mirror otherwise it will fail an MOT
