MarkR
Hey guys I've just been down to fit my strut brace and when i removed the bolts there was a big metal washer thing. Must i take this off or leave it on? Also, does anyone's HKS SSQV BOV touch their brace? Cheers Mark
Chewie
I took mine off as the TRD strut brace mounting plate was substantial enough to spread the clamp load. Essential to use an accurate torque wrench for tightening the 3 nuts on each strut.
Pete
Yes, remove them.
MarkR
Thank you (only just noticed the reply) I took em off anyway...
Ark
If you take the washers off, the brace will be too close to the BOV. If you keep them on there's just about enough clearance to get away with it.
rick001
I have mine on - 6 months now , am i in deep shit mode??
Pete
My SSQV fits fine without contact. A slight bend to it's bracket arranged for that.
Ark
I _really_ wouldn't worry about it. Those nuts are only supposed to be tightened to 25 lbs/ft which is f' all really. Hardly any clamping forces to worry about.
Guest Suprafly
When I fitted my front strut bar I just nipped up the mounting nuts and gave them a quarter turn, you dont really want to shear one of the studs.
MarkR
Thanks guys. I took em off and bent the bracket for the SSQV. Cheers Pete.
