So im driving upto see my mate today, but when i get there he aint in, bollocks. So im driving out his estate and drive by another lad who was out working on his Celica, nice car he had.

Didnt think anything of it, so im pulling upto my flat and the Celica pulls up behine me, he gets out and we then start talking about the soop, saying that he's seen the car out and about, and my car is soo nice.

Was well chuffed. His name was stuart, nice lad.

Just goes to show that the Soop still draws alot of attention, no matter where you go. :D

:D

I had a smiliar thing at a set of lights last night, chucking it down with rain about 10 30ish and a ford probe pulls up along side, looks at me abit, then rolls down the window and starts asking the spec and details etc.

Only a small pointless convo really but its good to get the attention:d

It's cause supras are quite rare cars over here imo, you rarely see supras driving around compared to most other cars like mr2's starlets pulsars etc. I see more porsches (spell) then i do supras.

Rare, good looking and great performance! what more could you want?

They appeal to a different market than they used to I think - and the build quality of the newer ones (at least 996s) has more in common with Mondeo's than you might expect.

There is also a certain irony - in my opinion the 996 is the ugliest 911 ever, and yet they sold shed loads of them. Enough that depreciation on them is a little scary and you don't need to be particularly rich to buy a second hand one. If I do get rid of the Supra and went 911 shopping with a budget of £25K-ish, there would be 996s in that price bracket. Fortunately, I have better taste than that.
