DaveK
I have always found this site pretty slow compared to others (I'm with BT broadband). It's not slow all the time, but I will sometimes be waiting 10s or so.

DaveK
try 30-40 or never There are some things in life you don't need to try to know you won't like them.
markymark
Mine is also very slow today I'm also with NTL running 4mb.
ivan
NTL 4Mb here and the site's fairly slow at first for me. Seems to "warm up" after a while and the pages load a bit quicker. Tried #14 proxy as suggested with not much difference. However, I did manage to get on freedrive.co.uk using it - which my normal (Southampton) proxy just refuses to look at. Gaz6002
I was going to post last night but thought it may have cleared up. Have you PM'ed the mods to ask them to check the line to the server? I work in WANs and the like and this is sounding more and more like a local issue. If not then where abouts in the country are the complaints coming from? It could be an on-going SDH issue etc? Pot
It's still played up for me tonight... On and off... Can I suggest a couple of polls be set up by the mods, one for location, and one for your connection, labeled for people having issues... There's enough of us having problems, and it's been going on for long enough now, it needs some investigation???
Homer
Based on the info supplied so far Mawby will hopefully check it out in more detail tomorrow. Lets just wait and see what the findings are first.
Pot
No worries mate, if he wants more detailed analysis I'm sure we'll help out... It's come to the point that when it gets bad I just leave it in a window, and come back to it later hoping it's loaded... Thankfully as it's on and off, us affected get our moments of posting... lol

Homer
Nice find Gav!! Its been great for me today too, though has gotten a little slower this evening. Still its nothing like as bad as it was over the weekend. Mawby says this is not a forum issue, it is only NTL users that have problems. JustGav
I can definite agree that it is an NTL issue, as I can bypass through my work VPN (8mb BT based, and then through a rather large pipe out of our datacentre 100mb+) and it works VERY quickly. I'm wondering if there is anyway of pulling out SNMP style stats off of the proxy servers to see which are lightly loaded. Could write a little script of those people who use IPCop firewalls like myself that automatically switches to least busy proxy.

AndyT
BT 7 meg fast as you want. NTL often has these issues. Lots of buddies have changed isp's because of it. Good luck people.
