Homer
For the last few weeks the forum has been getting slower and slower to view for me. It started with the odd 10-20 second delay when trying to click any link starting http://www.mkivsupra.net (whether from within the forum or outside). This has been getting gradually worse until this evening where I can hardly access anything. Sometimes clicking a link or thiead returns the page immediately, sometimes it just hangs. The PC is XP and completely patched, windows firewall and Avast antivirus. I've visited hundreds of other websites without any issues, inc many forums. Tried all the usual stuff: - Reboot - Clear all temp files - Reimaged the PC - Replaced the HDD (It had a failure) - Replaced the mainboard RAM Extended ping to the site works fine, no dropped packets and Any ideas? Anyone else have issues? (Virgin Media/NTL 10mb connection)
DamanC
Has been getting slower for me on my home connection, all the others are fine(as you can see, i like other connections). I too am on NTL.

Homer
Seems to be an NTL issue. Can any of you NTL guys try using a manual proxy setting: 213.105.224.** Port 8080 Where ** is anything from 11 to 18 (these are each of the reacgional proxys, I'm trying 14 now, which is the least used Swansea proxy and it seems to be a little better, though overlal browsing is slower Let me know how you get on I'll be in contact with Nthell tomorrow. JustGav
Hmmm, VirginMedia here (okay, okay, NTL 10mb)... Yeah, it has been slow here as well. Homer, NTL's border proxies acting up again you reckon?

JB You will still be going through NTL's border proxies, they are transparent units. They are known for having issues to be honest.
Homer
Homer, NTL's border proxies acting up again you reckon? I think so, last time I spoke to them (unrelated issue) the first thing they did was to change the proxy to the least used one and it solved the problem. Its slower to retreive pages on the .14 proxy, but isn't hanging as much as the default one

I put it down to me just having an issue, but seems it's not only me... (Telewest/VM 10mb Cable)
