Robbo
How do you resist keeping at least 1 from every litter?? It's hard believe me, you get attached. I wish I kept the bitch on the picture to show her!! Never mind. I have 1 left at the minute from my last litter, he has just gone 5 months old and is now part of the family so when he goes to his new home that will be hard letting him go

Robbo
so how many girls do you have? I had 3 but just have 2 now. I have had a litter from each of them. If I breed from them again it wont be until next year
Supragal
I had 3 but just have 2 now. I have had a litter from each of them. If I breed from them again it wont be until next year this is the thing with breeding, you have to have so many dogs to actually make a living from it. Some muppet at my last job accidentally let his 2 spaniels breed and he got £400 per puppy and just wouldn't shut up about what a gold mine it was. I posed a few questions like "how much has the vet bills cost, extra food, KC registering" etc and he looked at me blankly 'cos his missus' was sorting all that and he's never taken one figure away from the other.... and then he starts on about having another litter... I couldn't even be arsed to tell him he was being a twat.

Robbo
this is the thing with breeding, you have to have so many dogs to actually make a living from it. I couldn't even be arsed to tell him he was being a twat. I totally agree with you there Rosie, you can't make a living from it and tbh shouldn't think that way anyway. Our 1st litter we hardlys made any profit. The bitch had to have a c-section which cost £470 then she got a really bad case of sickness and you no what!! That cost £85.00, then one pup had died inside of her, one pup was also born with a hare lip and we kept her in the family as we did not believe with "putting her to sleep" we thought we would give her a chance and i bottle fed her from day one every 2 hours for the 1st 3 weeks so i was absoloutely knackered going into work and my mam had to come up through the day and do it, she is fine now but her vet bills to correct her mouth has cost £600 in total (upto now!), she is a little miracle bless her (she's 7 months old now) then we had to register 5 pups which all in all I think it cost me about £100 as I got the 5 generation pedigree certificates for the new owners. Then once the puppies go onto solids i was buying, eggs, tuna, mince, mixer biscuits, goats milk etc and was spending about £10 to £15 per week on that for 5 weeks, then the soap powder and cleaning products to clean their blankets and cage etc etc etc the list goes on. So no you dont make that much of a proffit and it is very very hard work especially if the pups dont get rehomed as soon as they turn 8 weeks. This has happened on this litter we had 3 pups that were 4 months old before 2 of them have been rehomed, I am still left with one little boy! People do make me laugh when they say they will breed to make a living out of it bo**oc*ks is what i say

Supragal
Yeah, I had to punch extra holes to make it small enough! He hasn't worn that collar even on the longest setting for sooo long now!
Thorin
Cool pics. On the subject of dogs, I see that Ben Fogel is presenting Crufts again. He was a complete retard last year I'm surprised they got him back to do this year. I'll be watching in the vain hope to see him get mauled to death by a poodle. Well that and sniggering childishly at the commentating. Commentator : "She's quite an old bitch this one" Me : "She's not that old, mid thirties at most" Makes me laugh every time
