B52 Crash

Re: B-52 crash, Fairchild AFB. A good pilot who made very bad decisions and wasn't punished/controlled/mentored by supervisors/commanders. Shame on them. I use this case often in my Embry-Riddle Aviation classes.

Sorry mate I have to disagree. :)

Good pilots don't make those kind of decisions and they don't fly perfectly servicable aircraft into the ground when conditions are good.

He wasn't a good pilot, he was an arogant prick, who risked lives to pump his own ego.

He did nothing for the profession, he just killed inocent people with his gung-ho attitude.

Rant over.:)

As you were.

The fact he could perform the maneouveres he did in such an aircraft are proof of his skills. The fact that he repeatedly tried, risking the lives of others, are proof he was a cock of the highest order.

He could have killed 100s at one of those airshows. Lunacy.

:looney:

Dude, you need to hear and see a B1-B take off. Unbelieveble!

Hey Ed, I thought the Vulcan was at Brunters?

google earth East Midlands Airport and you see the Vulcan in the top left corner along with a few other jets like canberras, lighnings etc.

I think Bruntingthorpe has one too.

+ lincoln air museum and duxford air museum
