Jspec Germany
Re: B-52 crash, Fairchild AFB. A good pilot who made very bad decisions and wasn't punished/controlled/mentored by supervisors/commanders. Shame on them. I use this case often in my Embry-Riddle Aviation classes. Shame on them. I use this case often in my Embry-Riddle Aviation classes. Sorry mate I have to disagree. Good pilots don't make those kind of decisions and they don't fly perfectly servicable aircraft into the ground when conditions are good. He wasn't a good pilot, he was an arogant prick, who risked lives to pump his own ego. He did nothing for the profession, he just killed inocent people with his gung-ho attitude. Rant over. As you were.
Jspec Germany
I don't disagree. Today, that's true. What I meant was he had the skills of a good pilot, unfortunately teamed with very poor judgement.
lust2luv
The fact he could perform the maneouveres he did in such an aircraft are proof of his skills. The fact that he repeatedly tried, risking the lives of others, are proof he was a cock of the highest order. He could have killed 100s at one of those airshows. Lunacy.
