Aerotop Dave
Yes, this isn't being made very clear. The UK version is simply... the UK version. There is no direct equivalent J spec (or 'import'). The top of the range J spec is the GZ. This has all the gadgets, but is still slightly below the UK version (no heated seats, headlamp washers, etc). Disappointingly, no one has mentioned the FAQ forum yet. If you go here.. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=14 ...you will find discussions on UK versus J Spec (which includes info on the differences between them), auto v manual, and pre- and post-facelift differences. Also some useful 'what to look for when buying' advice.

Soonto_HAS_soop
)Nobody has asked this guy his age yet, or whether ornot his insurance quote was for a UK or an Import. Age will be a big thing when considering J-Spec or UK. If I had a UK, it would be nearly 1/2 of what I'm paying now for insurance and I'm 24 (very nearly 25 ). Ben.. DamanC
im 22 the quote was for a uk spec TT with limited miles of 5k, but then its only going to be a weekend/evening car supose i ought to check out the J spec quotes.........
Grazer
You should expect your quote to double for a J-spec - this year I got a quote for £800 and when they realised I had a J-spec it went to £1800

colsoop
hello i have a supra twin turbo mine is a early model (93). Before the supra i had a saxo vts like you and it was quick the best quarter mile time i got was 15.03 but the supra is in a different class. i test drove a couple of n/a's and the in gear acceleration was so much better than the saxo. I then decided on a twin turbo as i knew i would get hungry for more power eventually. The handling is also better with the soop, the only area that isn't brilliant is the braking but that can be sorted with a uk brake upgrade. Servicing costs for the soop are also very reasonable and are less than i was paying for the saxo. Get one dude you will not regret it.
