Supragal
Just what I need. Sat here and thought "I'm sure I can hear water running...." yup. That will be the study filling up with rain. Joy.
AndrewOW
Oh no! Join the club. I've got a lovely flat with a conservatory, which leaks at every opportunity. One day I'll get it resealed, but its an old fashioned victorian thingy and would be very expensive. Hope yours isn't too difficult to solve

Rob Dublin
Check the sarking (roofing felt)... usually the cause, ie ripped, slipped or missing!
AndrewOW
I was thinking of suggesting something about personal staff at home, but I thought better of it! Its probably the lead flashing at the join on the wall/roof/gables etc, once they split there will be an annoying moment of figuring out exactly where its coming through. Unless a tree's fallen thru the roof!
Supragal
I'm hoping it's just the guttering backed up or something... I'm not going out in this weather, I'll take a look later. Thanks for the suggestions, it'll give me more things to look for
