For many years I was one of the men in white coats (they're coming to take you away...)

Now I am the Head of Health Informatics in one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the country. ... some would cynically suggest I replace Doctors and Nurses with computers!

Im an Analytical Chemist for a pharmaceutical company, dull dull dull:(

But ive just been offered a Firefighters job for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service subject to a medical

The only problem is I may have to wait up to a year before i get started and I also have to take a pay cut................ Not to worry though, should be a much more intersting job :D

Best of Luck Stu, my father was a firefighter for about 30 years, he loved it, until the end (he's retired) when the politics started to piss him off, the shift patterns were ace though he had loads of free time ;)

Suppose I should post up as I've hijacked this thread. I'm a simulation engineer, I colour in for a living :D

My Avatar is a sample of the sort of stuff I do ;)

Disk Drive Qualification Engineer.

Soon to have my role changed to include Environmental Test, running a thermal chamber and LDS shaker.

Might have to become a tree surgeon though!! :faint:

Trust me tbourner, when you're out there climbing a monkey tree (one of the worst) in the freezing winter with frozen hands sticking to snow covered bark and a chainsaw you can barely grip because of the cold, as well as the 60-80mph winds and horrid rain, you'd be wishing you had a nice heated/air con office! :)
