jamesmark
To say you hate Japs is such a silly comment, it is a bit like me saying I hate Asians (which I don't by the way) just because an Asian sold a supra to my mate and he done nothing but lie all the way through the sale, and it was not untill I bought the car off my mate 2 months after that with big plans in mind only to find out that it had been in a crash as was cosmeticly covered up. You are lucky that all you need is a paint job, I would have loved my car to only have required a paint job. Please do not tarnish everyone under the same brush. Guest EncoreWRC
Take your car to a show like Donny North and take it to one of the House Of Color boys.. they will find it or mix it for ya. And they are more then happy to help -thats what I did with my last car. 99.9% sure they could help. It costs, but they will have it or mix it

rik
I think Gadgets comments were meant tongue in cheek. And there has been quite a few threads in the last year and a half since i've been here about people finding bodges after having work done on their cars. As for matching pearls, very difficult. Pearl is made up by adding various types of crystals to paint or laquer. The crystals come in a pot and you weigh them out, say 5 grammes per litre of paint. So first you need to match the exact crystal type and guess the ratio. Then the amount of layers applied will make a differance also. Putting pearl in the top layer is also a big no no. Any t-cut type pollish will have an effect on the finish and the pearl particles will be visable like grains of salt on the surface. Any pearl/candy type layers should always be protected by a few coats of clear laquer.
RobSheffield
There are a lot of jap bodges simply because they dont keep the cars that long, pretty soon after modding they start failing the Shaken and so they sell em..to us...and buy an R34

johnnyknox
Japanese people are crazy but I actually love em for it! (my older brother made me laugh when I first got my Supra, I booted it on a duel carriageway and he shit himself while screaming, those crazy ****ing japs)
Pot
You are lucky that all you need is a paint job, I would have loved my car to only have required a paint job. Aye, I recently found out that mine had been in a front end smash, it was still bent, and missing such parts as the big metal bar that goes directly behind the bumper... True, it could have been the importers who got it smashed up and bodged it, but I'm sure the paperwork said it was OK... (Don't have it to hand to check)... I know it's a fcuker finding the ££ for a respray, but think of it as an investment on the car... It'll look a sh!t load better afterwards
Gadget
I have nothing against the japanise, and yes it was meant as a tongue in cheek. I was really teed off with the outcome but if I hated what I had so far it would be gone. Just wanted to let off some steam. As for the paint job if I would have known it would be this hard to match I would have got a differant supe. Apologies to anyone wo was offended by this but there is such thing as freedom of speech:Pling: What is wrong with making a comment, from some of the post's some of you feel my pain and the rest just don't like me for saying what I feel in the heat of the moment (even I thought the title was a bit harsh though). All I was saying was someone decided to do a proper homeschool job of the paint and made it up. It's not as if I am made of money and can go and get this paint code from anywhere. Rant over, with no scars I hope:Pling:

jamesmark
Rant over, with no scars I hope:Pling: Sod that!!!!!!!! Witch hunt My comment earlier was not aimed 100% at your comments towards Japanese people could not care less if you like them or not as you said freedom of speech, but people don't like that on here sometimes, it just made me re think about the state my supra was in and I wished my one only needed to spray job Just thought I would clear the air too mate
